I have 2 hds. One is 250G and the other is 250G. The primary hd is the 250G. I want to make the 350G a secondary. How can I do that with no floppys or cds that came with the 350G hd and how can I force dos to recognize it is 350G and not 1G?

There are two ways that drives are configured. Both ways are inside the box.

Cable Select - this method picks the Primary and Secondary by the postition of the drives on the cable itself. Usually the END connector is for the Primary. Of course, the jumpers on both drives must be set to CABLE SELECT, and neither can be set as Master or Slave.

Master - Slave - this methods uses the jumper configuration on both drives. Simply select MASTER for one drive and SLAVE for the other. A computer cannot have two MASTERs on the same cable.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
