This is a situation when one partakes in an illegal activity knowing that it is illegal and still follows through with it, because of the risk for the satisfaction it gives them. One partakes in smoking crack, they know it is illegal but they want the high so badly that they think they can do it and not get caught and risk the chance anyway.

Violating any accepted social norm that disrupts public order. For example, a twenty-year old boy impregnates a fourteen-year old girl. According to the norms and laws of our society, this is a criminal act punishable by incarceration, as the populace in general views such behaviors as "deviant"- deviant in the sense that, presumably, the twenty-year old should've known better and used better judgement. However, deviance is culturally prescribed in the sense that if you object to some norm as unreasonable, you run the risk of having the label "deviant". For example, if you alone or in concert with a large group of other people disagree with the party line, you are labelled as a deviant. Look at the war protestors in light of conservative Republican commentators. The protestors are seen as deviants because they will not tow the "official party line", and some of them (protestors) resort to acts of violence in the face of what they perceive as a government that has far exceeded constitutional authority and has, in fact, become criminal itself. In this context, so-called "criminal deviance" has become a creation of and a response to a draconian government that is just begging to be destroyed.

A common misconception is that antisocial personality disorder refers to people who have poor social skills. The opposite is often the case. Instead, antisocial personality disorder is characterized by a lack of conscience. People with this disorder are prone to criminal behaviour, believing that their victims are weak and deserving of being taken advantage of. Antisocials tend to lie and steal. Often, they are careless with money and take action without thinking about consequences. They are often aggressive and are much more concerned with their own needs than the needs of others.

Criminal deviance is any behaviour or activity that is in conflict with the laws set out by society. Therefore any crime that is committed would be classified as criminal deviance. Robbery, murder, assault, rape, theft, etc.
