I've heard stories that the first time you have sex it breaks you hymen, and you bleed a little. Well what if you have sex (and your a virgin) but you don't bleed? Does it mean your hymen is already broken? Then are you not a virgin? (were you not a virgin?) Hate to put in another question, but does it hurt your first time?

If you dont bleed it could mean that your hymen was already torn (by using tampons, participating in physical activities, masturbation etc.) but it could also simply mean that your hymen did not tear during the sex. get a mirror, hold it between your thighs. your hymen is a peice of skin located at the bottom of the vaginal opening. it partially blocks the entrance. Some more than others. It is very possible for it not to have torn during your first encounter particularly if your partner was gentle. In fact, my hymen remained quite intact about a month into my sex-life.

1. Most girls' hymen is already broken long before they have sex. LOTS of things can break it. Tampons, physical activity, a physical examination, etc.

2. You do not always bleed the first time you have sex. That is a myth. It CAN happen, but it is not a foregone conclusion. If it does, it is usually pretty minimal.

3. Breaking your hymen has nothing to do with virginity. That is a myth. The definition of a "virgin" is merely a person who has not had sex before. That's it.

4. Yes, it usually hurts the first time. That said, if your boyfriend is slow, careful, uses lots of lube, and participates in a significant amount of foreplay; the pain will be significantly minimized. If it hurts a lot, your guy is doing it wrong. That said, most people I know say it hurt the first time; and usually the first FEW times.

5. Finally, if you are under 18, I highly recommend waiting. The consequences of messing this up are very severe. It is not worth it if you are not an adult and ready to take responsibility for whatever may happen (stds, pregnancy, etc.). Make sure you use a condom!!!!

A lot of what you say here is the result of unrealistic male fantasy. I'll tell you one more thing: the last person on earth you want to get information from regarding this is likely your boyfriend. Read a book or talk to your doctor about it if you have questions. You can't rely on most of the people here to know what they are talking about.

Most women don't bleed at all. This does not mean ur not a virgin since ur hymen can break before u have sex. It can brake while horse or bake riding. If a woman's hymen has stretched it does not mean she's not avirgin. No one can tell weather ur a virgin or not by just looking at ur hymen.

my close friend, a girl had sex when she was 15, she told me it really hurt. I dont know if her Bfriend was rough or what soever, but i she said she had cramps and couldnt play sports, walk or run for a few days. besides, she experienced more pain the next time she had sex..i know it took her at least a month to overcome all that..As a guy, i cant relate to much of this, but i advice young girls to NOT have sex till your much older, oh and with the use of condoms too

Some women do not bleed and it does not hurt. Doesn't mean they weren't a virgin necessarily. It could mean they are well lubricated and truly ready to do it.
