Get an education. Own property. Have a powerful job which engenders reverence. Play the stock market (well). Stand up for your sisters and anyone else in society who is vulnerable or disadvantaged. Love yourself and realize how beautiful you are every time you look into the mirror. Have confidence. The only thing that is not necessary for respect is having a penis. Besides that your pants will never fit properly again. Thanks for a decent question in Women's Studies instead of the rantings by the likes of Baba Yaga Junior (Happy Bullet).

Lead by example and not by demanding something based on your gender and the bias of laws and the system.
Atleast if it really matters that men respect you.
I cant see women officers leading infantry platoons into war even though they are hard core millitant feminist.
You can forcefully make changes but they will not last long if the changes dont come from the heart and mind and for that the male population which has been uptil now not being taken into consideration will have to be recognized as participants.
Respsect comes if you give it not if you walk around with the attitude if you so much as :
not hire me i will cry discrimination.
not tow my line in marrige then spousal rape or worse abuse.
i want equal pay but i wont do the jobs that are too physical or hazardous let the men do those.
i want children even though the guy doesent want them but i will make sure he pays for them.
Women who are thorough professional and great with their relationships are those who are sensitive and give respect but the greatest thing of all is that they lead by example and i think no man would not respect and love this kind of woman.

Look for Alexandra on Yahoo! Answers and act/speak like she does. It helps a great deal if you are/can make yourself appear beautiful (as your culture determines beautiful), because this is and probably always will be a quality in a woman that is looked upon very highly, just as it is in a man. (Though the term is generally "handsome...") People may say they don't care about those things, but they do, and it will save you a lot of ridicule and annoyance as well. Personality wise, don't scream or act in a neurotic way. This advice could really go for anybody, to tell you the truth.
Oh, and don't glare or mutter at guys if they open doors for you or offer your seats, because then you'll be labeled a feminist *****. Just putting it out there. "Please and thank you" are great, but other compliments do WONDERS. Even if somebody says it's no big deal, humans LOVE being complimented. Complimenting people that you wish to respect you will certainly earn you an ally.
That's all my opinion, though; take it with a grain of salt.

Be self-respecting.
Be like the women you know who are respected
and respectful of others.
Say what you mean and walk the talk.
Don't let popular opinion be your substitute for a clear conscience.

Treat others as you want them to treat you. Be classy and kind always, stand up for what you believe in and stand up for those you love. Don't be a follower be a leader, find something you love to do and do it with passion and joy. Smile even tho you don't feel like it, and always find some time for yourself.

Don't take any BS, BUT choose your battles carefully. When it comes to the "Happy Bullet's" of this world, they won't grant you an inch. You need to take what you need; otherwise you will get nothing.
When it comes to sane people, the answer is easy: treat others in the same manner you wish to be treated.

Listen to Babayaga. Respect is not earned. It is forced. If someone doesn't respect you, force them to do it. Any concessions or cooperation = no respect for you.
That's the true feminist way!
EDIT: Oh and edit your posts to include disclaimers that your philosophy only applies to baaaad people after you get called on your ridiculous opinions. People will respect your honesty and integrity that way.
