Over the weekend, the Washington Post broke this story--disabled veterans living in rat-invested quarters--while Bush only visits those in the nice showpiece facilities across the street.
Now the White House doesn't want to answer questions about this neglet of our troops who have suffered permanent disabiity in the service of thieir country.
So who's picking up the ball? Who is moving in to fix this situation--and investigate how this injustice occurred?
The Democrats. Bush can't be bothered to even comment--I guess being seen with a vet trapped in a rodent invested room isn't a good photo op. So much for who really cares about our soldiers.

you have an interesting case and bravo that you brought up to the surface. there are many ways "you" can help if you volunteer your time and effort...and sometimes some financial means. number one make the issue known which u did ...but wider audience. number two..write direct to government officials and politicians where you have seen veterans living...and detail the issue. write direct to the veterans affairs, local and national chapters, get hold of their rep and their chairman and invite them to you local area and tell them to make a presentation etc. continue this work...for at least 6 to 12 months. when you do receive an interesting response...make it public go to the nearest radio and media outlet and expose etc. it is a long process but someone has to do it on the veterans behalf. they are too weak to take up another fight. they did their duty at the time. hope it helps.

Way to go, man. I'm a Vet. There's no friggin way I'll ever go to a VA for treatment. It's horrible, they don't care, you shed your blood and no one cares. I would never let any VA Hospital even put a temperature probe in my mouth. I'd be too scared that they didn't properly clean it.
If you don't believe me, take a visit to your local VA. Please observe the patient floors and therapy floors (self explanatory).
As far as conservatives, they care about the troops.
Democrats also care.
But, there are some that will throw lives into war and rally for war blindly. Not caring about the consequences of war. War is meant to kill, harm, maim, destroy, obliterate. This is exactly what happens to the lives of Veterans.
You get all these people (especially conservatives) who rally for war and the persistence of this particular war, BUT NONE OF THEM EVER GO TO A VA, VOLUNTEER, JUST SAY HI, ASK WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU, HOW CAN I HELP YOU, SAY THANK YOU.
But they will, conservatives, fire off their superior intellect and positions on minimal government in everything. Okay, fine, but why won't any of you guys that come into Answers and stand behind Bush and this war and attack THE OPINIONS of all who have anything negative to say about this administration and this war, ever go to a VA. Again, WHY WON'T YOU GO TO THE VA AND THANK THE GUYS THAT YOU SUPPOSEDLY BACK AND SUPPORT.

Politicans typically don't do what's right for some people. It's all about playing a game of deception, and moving things around to make everything look good.
