Its odd because I've been contemplating this for a few months. My wife is pregnant and due in June with our first. Half the people I know don't want us to use it around their children and the other half are habitually using it around their children with the intent that they will disipline it out of the kids. I didn't know profanity until I was 10, but then as long as my parents weren't around it was every other word, until I got into the real world. I plan to try to limit its use around my child, but I don't know how well it'll work.

Our certainly feel that our actions have an impact on our children. When children are older, and are adults, they will more than likely raise their children the way they were raised. It is the big picture that counts.Children and teenagers go through stages, and some will sware and smoke cigarettes, etc but I feel the in long run, it is history that repeats itself and that is why I say no. Do not use profanity.

I dont allow my kids because it will become a bad habit and other adult or children hearing it would be offended. I occassionally mutter something but apologize immediately if I do in front of them.
when we need to let off steam from a frustration or from stubbing a toe or such we allow exclamation....its kind of a law of physics in these cases...balancing energies uno lol
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Mom doesn't cuss much and even though all of her childs are old enough to make their own decisions she still doesn't like for us to use cuss words around her. I don't just out of respect.

yes, hate to admit it, but I've been to known to use a few "colorful" words in my every day vocabulary. i have a 13 and 14 yr old and they use an occasional "soft" curse word or two, but it's nothing serious...right now anyway!

My parents use it all the time. My mom doesn't let me use it. My dad doesn't seem to mind though.
