It wasn't the fact that they mimed, it was the fact that it wasn't them singing on the records. A few days after they won a Grammy in1990, their secret came out and their award was withdrawn.

I read that they're making a film about them later this year.

They were a couple of talentless ponces and the songs were all shite - which is bad enough, but when you get someone else to sing the stuff for you because they're better than you are at singing and it's still that bad, you really deserve everything you get. Pity more talentless little tossers don't get the same treatment. I'd be happy to offer myself as a public service, abusing that sort of w@nker.

They claimed to sing songs that they simply didn't perform. Many artists lip-synch on stage, but it's to their own music that they recorded...Milli Vanilli falsely claimed to have recorded music that they hadn't.

Although the two lip sync, it turned out that they could sing. I saw them on "Arseno" once. Did you hear that there is going to be a movie about the them? I learned about it last week. I have to see that.

the thing that p*ssed people off was that there were these 2 good looking blokes (terrible clothes though), who were supposed to be able to sing, and whose marketing company had basically lied to the entire music industry & music buying public. people don't like being tricked / lied to. makes them feel gullible and stupid.

They were caught miming on their records. Some artists can carry it off more convincingly, but these guys made it so obvious, they were caught out.

They acted like it was live. It was at an actual concert, not for tv or a video.
