Florida has the longest state constitution in the USA.
There are hundreds of laws that contradict eachother and interfere with a working understanding of the law.
Many of these laws are put forth by lobbyists for large companies and religious organizations.

For example: In Florida, if you have a warrant out for your arrest (which happens if you fail to pay a minor traffic ticket) they have a law that prevents you from reregistering your car.
Another law allows towing companies to take posession of any car with expired plates.

There are still laws on the Florida constitution that criminalize homosexuality and mention God.

There is also a law that allows OJ Simpson to buy millions of dollars worth of property in Florida to avoid paying Nicole's Family their restitution.

Should Florida just rip it up and start over?

The Florida Constitution has a few good things in it, such as stronger guarantees than the U S Constitution in Freedom of Choice in family planning. It shouldn't be thrown out like the bathed baby but a revision and re-classification of laws and clarification of what constitutes government is badly needed to serve the needs of the residents. Yes, do throughout the useless and outdated baggage! Florida is the only state out rightly banning gay persons from child adoptions! Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of qualified persons capable of such a monumentous task of making a working document. Just look at our hedious state collectors guarter. The present governor Charlie Christ so far has shown leadership, but we can only fathom the crust of lobbyist arguments!
I suggest we develope computor progams to do the work!
