"WASHINGTON — A New York man accused of trying to help terrorists in Afghanistan has donated some $15,000 to the House Republicans' campaign committee over three years.

Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari pleaded not guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan to charges that include terrorism financing, material support of terrorism and money laundering.

The NRCC did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment Tuesday about whether it would return the donations."

""The resume says that in 2003 Alishtari was named a National Republican Senatorial Committee "Inner Circle Member for Life"..."

If this was the dems doing it, Faux would be screaming about traitors and we'd not hear the end of it for weeks on YA - especially if it wasn't true.

If you read the whole artice, you'll discern that the two events are, in fact, mutually exclusive. Small donations like the ones this guy made are pretty much under the radar. What the NRCC did with the funds wasn't at this guy's discrection. It's not like he bought any influence with the funds. Anyone can donate money as an individual to a political party of their choice.

In a separate incident, he's accused of sending funds to known terror organizations.

Quit trying to paint all Republicans as taking direct donations from a terror supporter.

Probably a cover - but as a Dem it doesn't make me feel bad to see this. Republicans think Dems are anti-US, but in my opinion things like the War in Iraq has hurt our country and the World's opinion of it worse than anything Clinton did while in office. Not to mention over a quarter of a million innocent people killed because of it and $100+ billion of our taxes that could have been used to better our country or killing Bin Laden, wasted to make life worse for every Iraqi citizen. Not to mention weakened our military to not properly respond to Iran and N. Korea.

No surprise there. The guy knows that any money going to the GOP will make it to the Saudi's for their support of terrorists and al queda.

democracy is corrupt as well, although it is the least corrupt of all systems of government.
Declaring a group As terrorist is only a political tool. These organizations are all funded by States-whether by Iran,pakistan,israel,india,usa..etc.
If the republicans took the money then that particular organisation will shortly be of the terrorist list.
