Sometimes, the truth is not near as appealing as being ignorant or believing a lie. The truth requires us the be on one side of the fence or the other and people usually want to have the best of both worlds, which just isn't possible.

Maybe truth is a lonley thing.
Do you rememeber when a candy bar was good because even the rapper was interesting? Or your boyfirend or girlfriend was just using you and didnt really want you for more then just a F***?
The truth is there is no person we can blame for the hell we live in. And yah the truth hurts.

It brings up feelings some people don't like, especially when the truth sheds light on something personal that makes us look bad to others and especially to ourselves.
