My husband and i have been trying for a little one for a couple of months now...i've spent over $200 in pregnancy test from ept...and for what??? all negative...so this month i have reason to believe [again lol] that i might be pregnant seeming how we are still trying...however i heard the dollar store tests are just as good and hey their a buck! anyway so i bought 2...i took one today even though my period is about 4-5days away...and it was negative...does this mean i am not pregnant? or did i just test too early...?

It doesn't mean that you aren't pregnant. While the dollar store tests work just as well, they aren't sensitive enough to give you an accurate result BEFORE your period is due. You'll have to wait until the first day of your missed period or longer. They still work very well though! My husband and I are going through the same thing, and I've spent tons of money on pregnancy tests. I finally just started buying them at the dollar store as well. Good luck!!!

I've never had a problem with the dollar store pregnancy test expect when i had very low hormones at the start of the pregnancy. I can't see spending 20+ bucks on a test for me to pee on. Some people I know can't use the Dollar store tests but for the most part it's the same thing that most of the doc. offices uses. So I suggest just waiting about 4-5 more days and then taking another test.

I'm going to say that you could still be preg. You need to wait til 1 to 2 days after you MISS a period. This will save you boatloads on tests too.
And FYI, the dollar test worked for me, it's the only one I ever used and it turned positive in about 3 seconds.

Dollar store tests always worked for me. I even had one under my sink for a few years and when I used it, it was expired and it showed a positive result and was accurate. Read the instructions and see when it says to take it and if your period doesn't come and that brand hasn't showed a positive go ahead and buy an EPT or first response.

Might be too early, I used one after being 2 days late, and it was very faint. I thought that since it was only a dollar that it wasn't trustworthy so i bought a name brand one then next day and the result was still positive, just a darker line.
Just relax, everything happens for a reason. I am in the same boat as you are, and I think if my body is ready then it will happen. good luck though!

The dollar pregnancy tests do not work before you've missed your period. You'll be a lot better off emotionally and financially if you wait until after you've missed. I've been in your position, wanting to know as soon as possible, and then having it be a let down month after month.

You tested too early. The dollar store tests are not the ones that can get resutls 5 days before your period. Good luck!

THE DOLLAR STORE TESTS ARE JUST AS GOOD AS THE REGULAR TEST, THEY ARE MUCH CHEAPER AND THEY GIVE THE SAME RESULT. I WOULD STOCK UP ON THEM JUST IN CASE YOU MIGHT NEED THEM. I TOOK TWO TEST ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND THEY ALL SAID NEG.BUT AS SOON AS I HAD SEX ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO AND THEN TOOK A TEST IT SAID POSITIVE AND SURELY I WENT TO THE DOCTORS AND I WAS PREGNANT,WITH USING THE DOLLAR STORE BRAND TEST, SO THEY DO WORK. SO PLEASE DONT SPEND ANY MORE MONEY ON THOSE EXPENSIVE TESTS BECAUSE THE DOLLAR STORE BRAND WORKS JUST AS GOOD . SO GOOD LUCK !!!

yeah do go wasting all your money on the tests.. the dollar store ones work just as well... i think you tested too early
