my cousin says that he has put some registry log into my laptop by which he could able to see my all internet activities. But I installed McAfee Security Suite and when I scanned , it showed that there is no registry keys to be find. Is he just saying for terrifying me or is this can happen? Moreover he knows my ip adress but I have my own internet network which has a private key.

it is possible, especially if he had access to your computer. some spyware programs, but these are usually detected easily with spyware programs. (google "spybot search and destroy), or it will show up on registry if it's not detected by that... another possibility is a parental monitoring program. these can be configured to capture a wide range of things, including internet acivity. if he installed a good one of these (a licence would cost him at least $100) it can be setup to run completely hiden, and nothing you can do would show it (se spectersoft pro, for an example) and nothing will disable it. my guess is that he is lying, or he has some serious reason to worry about your internet usage (i.e.... are you a kid, and him older..... possibly asked by your parents to check???) it is too expensive for him to do it as a prank.

well, a registry log lol ok, maybe keylog, sounds like he doesn't know
what hes talking about, yes this can happen it is very easy to open a file that contains a R.A.T(Trojan) this will allow a person with little or no knowledge gain access to your machine, run an anti virus do a system scan. McAfee Security Suite sounds like a firewall??

to check if hes got anything on you ask him for some info about your computer or to place a file on you desktop named "I WAS HERE"

and don't let this guy around you computer....

Yes it is possible if he is that good. Run Hijack This. It will most likely find it IF he has installed it on your computer.

Download HijackThis---http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis. Run and Save a Log. When you log comes up copy and paste the entire log at http://www.hijackthis.de/ . Analyze your results. You will then get a screen that will tell you if you have any nasty stuff in your computer. Follow instructions to deal with any nasties. CAUTION: This is a very powerful tool. Be careful.
