To follow-up what type of rehab are they checked in?

It's not only anti-gay remarks, it's any kind of major blunder. It seems to be a current trend for them to go to "rehab" to save their reputations. This really annoys me because it's making light of people who have serious drug/alcohol dependence problems. Most of these people are really trying to get help and get their lives back together and then these celebs come in as a publicity stunt or some fake thing to excuse their bad behavior.

I don't know...but when I hear of a celeb making a slanderous comment about a group, and they check into rehab soon after, it's usually, like, alchol rehab. They sometimes use the excuse that they were drunk as a reason for saying hateful things. Because they may be more easily forgiven for having a drinking problem then being homophobic, or racist, or anti-Semetic or whatever.

Probably they'll use any kind of substance abuse as a reason for the remark.....so in order to save face, they'll go into rehab.

I'm not really sure who you are referring to. The latest celebrity rehabs have been:

-Miss USA
-Mel Gibson
-Britney Spears

And I'm pretty sure none of them have made anti-gay remarks. Am I missing someone?

So they don't have to take personal blame for their attitudes and actions. They can say they were "under the influence".

And yes, most people will believe the lie.
