Last year my husband was in a car accident and fractured his C4 vertebrae & suffered some nerve damage. thanx to a great neurosurgeon, outstanding physical therapist and the grace of God he is walking and moving about. he was also supposed to be paralyzed but isnt. can this affect ur sexual interaction? he says that he loses interest about after a minute even if he watches anything with sexual content in it. yet he does get an erection he also says that he is alot less sensitive in that area including his testes and doesnt have much of a sensation. his dr prescribed him with viagra but doesnt have an interest in having intercourse. i told him it would be easier to try this method to see if there was something other than it being just mental. then we could bring it to the attention of his urologist. any idea if this is just his subconscience as he may still be affected by the trauma or can it really be due to the spinal injury, thinking to himself that he may not be able to perform? TY

Obviously your husband had a massive trauma. At the time of the accident, the medical team was obviously very interested in saving his life, and of course the C4 injury had their full attention.

Now that we are removed from all that, we should consider the possibility of injury to another part of the spinal column (perhaps) that play a part in sexual function. Gonads are innervated from T10 typically, so that area may need investigation.

Frankly, I don't think the physician who prescribed the Viagra was trying all that hard. There are physicians and psychologists who specialize in sexual medicine, and I would hope they could be of help to you both.

Good luck!

Online medical consultations are ideal for minor or acute medical conditions that are just as easily treated online than they are in the doctor's office - only with added convenience and affordability.
Online medical consultations or "telemedicine" services are an ideal resource for everyone - particularly those who have limited or no health insurance, who are too sick to leave the house to go to the doctor's (where other sick people are!), and those who are often away from home. To obtain online doctor consultations and prescriptions, as well as doctors' excuses for work or school, is especially ideal for people on the go.
Online doctor consultations are also convenient for those who are paying too much for basic medical care by making repeat visits to the doctor's office for acute simple conditions such as sinusitis, bronchitis, allergies, and more.
Online doctor services also come in handy when a patient is embarrassed by a certain medical condition, and would prefer communicating with an online doctor anonymously.
Whether it is a printable doctor's excuse that is needed, or a complete online medical consultation - telemedicine services are ahead of the curve, providing many of the services that regular doctors' offices provide, but offer lower costs and the ability to obtain service from the doctor via phone or internet.
