Do you mean the Employment Development Department? If so, I presume you are in California. What you really need to do is go to the website for the EDD and review the vary detailed information available to you.

Whether or not your are eligible for unemployment depends entirely upon the reasons for your absences and tardiness. If you had compelling reasons like a medical emergency, you might be eligible. If you took a day off without permission to go to a baseball game, that might be a different story.

You don't get the food if you don't place the order, so you should at least apply for the benefits and let your former employer dispute your claim.

What is "EDD" - I know it's Employment Development Department in CA. If you are talking about unemployment, I doubt it. You were FIRED, not laid off due to lack of work.

Find another job and shape up next time.
