I just want to know which computer is superior overall. I also want to play Counter Strike Source on my new desktop... will I be able to? My notebook won't even load the game.

The notebook is better for multimedia tasks like ripping dvds because of its multicore processors. Both will be crappy for games because of the video cards. But for storage and stuff of course your desktop is beter because of the bigger hard drive

If you're into games, the desktop is much better. On your laptop, the graphics chip isn't going to work at all well for 3D games.

The graphics on your desktop is much better, but you may want to replace it with something faster if you're going to play games a lot.

Unfortunately, Windows Vista is a bit broken for 3D graphics, so if you have problems you may want to remove it and put XP on until MS sort Vista out.

Looks like the desktop might be faster.
