This movie is a Christmas movie made in the 70's,called "A House without a Christmas Tree" It's a great family movie that my daughter and I used to watch all the time. Since it's on vhs its pretty wore out. I cannot find it on dvd anywhere, and no one that I know can figure out how to copy it onto dvd with it being a copyright thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The film was originally presented as a Hallmark Hall of Fame back in the early 70's. Jason Robards played the grandpa; Lisa Lucas (who most famously played Jill Clayburgh's daughter in "An Unmarried Woman") is the precocious granddaughter. If Hallmark doesn't have a DVD version on its site, you might send them an email on how to find a copy. Wonderful film, it had a couple of sequels. I'd love to have a box set of them myself!

update: Amazon has some used copies of the VHS:

technically, you are ok if you are only copying it for your own personal use, to preserve what you all ready own

i would think the best time to look for that movie is right after Thanksgiving and right up to Christmas

or if you go here you can preorder one
