If they are hard decorations like ceramic you can take them out of the tank and scrub them with a new toothbrush that you use only for that. Don't recycle an old one though, too much toothpaste left in there.

Just take them out of the tank and scrub them. Don't get an algae eater just to solve this problem--the ones you most often see are common plecos and they can grow to over 2 feet. They also add a lot to the tank's bioload.

I promote the growth of algea in my fish tanks. However if you do not want get algea sucker fish or algea tablets from wal mart. You'lll have to wipe the algea of first. Also do a total tank blackout no light for 5-7 days! It will kill the algea. You could also take the decorations out put them in a bowl boil some water and pour it on the decorations.

I had the same problem. Personally I believe the baby snails are better for the decorations and adult snails are better for for the sides of the tank because the big snails were having problems getting on my decorative plants. So my advice is get baby snails.

A little bit is ok. But mostly you have to just keep it clean. Sometimes shutting off all outside light (cover it completely) for 24 hours. There are SOO many kinds of Alage you might want to find out which kind you have. then look up treaments.

take out the objects and put them in a water/ bleach mix. be sure to thoroughly clean them before putting them back in the take or else the bleach will kill your fish. This is a fairly risky method but it is guaranteed to kill the algae.
