i have a pair of adidas but i like nike better

It really depends on the width of your foot. I managed a sport shoe store and sold footwear for many years, so I know that the fit is the most important thing when choosing a shoe.
Both companies make shoes that have excellent cushioning and motion control. Nike has a tendency to run a bit more narrow so if you have a more slender foot, Nike should be your choice.
Adidas has a wider toe box and is cut a bit deeper, so is more comfortable for a person with a wider foot.
You really need to go to a reputable shoe store and work with a salesperson to find the perfect fit for you. Make sure that you are giving yourself plenty of room in the front of the shoe, so that you have room for your toes to spread out while you are using them. Good luck and have a good night.
