Majoring in computer science would give you a higher level diploma which obviously would be better if you're looking for an actual job relating to computer science... um a minor is perfectly good if you ever need a part time job. You can't really have enough time for two jobs if you're majoring in something else so it would probably make more sense minoring in computer science...

If you try to get a job that requires a degree in CS, technically a minor in CS doesn't count because a minor doesn't have the same full coursework as a major. Now, if you double major in CS and something else, you technically have a CS degree in addition to whatever else you majored in.

Well I majored in it. It pretty much states that you are a computer scientist. Now I would also gripe that a major in math with a minor in cs could hold as much weight. It just looks better in a resume.

hey, you can spend your time and money to learn to do a job that someone in India or China can do better, for 1/4 the salary that you hope to make. what a deal. my suggestion? major in something for which your physical body has to be there to get the job done.
