Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is an utterly fantastic romantic story with some humor and mystery and Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz is also very, very good.
Feel free to check out my book, The Shadow Within as well, it fits your description :-)
Links for the amazon listings for these three books are below.

Haha... I just posted this recommendation on someone elses post but.
You should read Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith! It is really good. However, it is a fantasy novel. But there is romance and court intrigue (which is pretty much mystery). Here is a little synopsis:
Young Countess Meliara swears to her dying father that she and her brother will defend their people from the growing greed of the king. That promise leads them into a war for which they are ill-prepared, which threatens the very people they are trying to protect. But war is simple compared to what follows, in peacetime. Meliara is summoned to live at the royal palace, where friends and enemies look alike, and intrigue fills the dance halls and the drawing rooms. If she is to survive, Meliara must learn a whole new way of fighting-with wits and words and secret alliances.
In war, at least, she knew in whom she could trust. Now she can trust no one.
Okay, so that probably doesn't do it justice, but just read it. You won't regret it. Promise.

Here are a few more, in the fantasy/sci-fi/romance areas:
first books in a series:
Sorcery & Cecelia by Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer
Alanna by Tamora Pierce
Violet Eyes by Nicole Ludiken
So You Want to be a Wizard? by Diane Duane
stand-alone:
*Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn
* not sure this is "officially" a teen book, but I don't see any reason why a teen couldn't read it.

I came from old school.
My best recommendation is to read all the Jules Verne novels. They are full of adventures, mysteries, exciting journeys around the world:
Around the world in 80 days.
Five weeks in balloon
The Mysterious Island.
The Southern Star
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea
From Earth to Moon
Robur The Conqueror
and many more....
The best of the best!

Well, I just read The Bar Code Rebellion, and that was a REALLY good book! It is about teenagers....about 17 years old...
A Better one that I read just a little while ago was Tiger Eyes by Judy Blue...about a girls dad that died, so she had to move across the country to New Mexico, and she had to leave her best friend and her boyfriend back in New Jesery...I think that that is where it was. But when she is there, she finds out a lot of stuff that she would never imagine!
GREATEST BOOK EVER!!
:)
Well, I hope that that was a little but of help..
if it wasnt sorry!

-Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants; The book is really good, more in detail, you'll be able to spot the difference in the book's plot and the plot in the movie
-Here Today; Ann M.Martin; Babysitter's Club Author's attempt at writing Historical Fiction for Teens; excellent! Set in the 1960's, shows teen problems are the same over every generation.. really good!
-The Mcdonald Hall Series; Gordon Korman; Okay, these are funny books- but they are really good, very interesting, good humour, I love them!
-Anne Of Green Gables Series; The last book in this series, Rilla Of Ingleside, is my favorite in the series, but I would recommend starting at the first & working your way up, as the plot will be confusing.
-Three Girls In The City; Interesting Book About Diversity in Teens, really good
-No Body's Perfect; Good book by one of the authors of Chicken Soup for The Teen Soul, very inspiring.
-The Breadwinner; Good book about Afghanistan, and the wartorn country over there, very sad, but very good!!
- If you don't enjoy any of these books, which I'm sure you will, check out TEEN MAGAZINE- it comes out every 3 months, very interesting, good book reviews in there as well.
GOOD LUCK<3
