What are ROMS? I know they're like where you can play video games on your PC, but I don't know how they work or how to download them. I would like to download a couple of GBA games on to my PC, but I'm not sure if it will harm it or what it will do to my system. Any info anyone could give me would be appreciated.

i use to download them when i was in middle school back in the day. i know you need an emulator, which is like an adaptor program that allows you to play the files, and then the actual files are ROM files. so you download the file and then open it up in the emulator and you play the game. i havent done that though for probably 10 years (super nintendo was the popular thing then) so i dont know about safety and legal risks anymore (since the copy right crackdown a few years ago). a lot of that crap is from rogue websites and is full of viruses/trojans/spyware, but if you find a trustable site then they probably wouldnt harm your computer

One thing all the previous answers don't mention is that they are highly illegal and are punishable by imprisonment.
