I have a simple system... pubs and bars are for drinking and restaurants are for eating!!!! too many pubs these days are employing people qualified to use a microwave, throwing together your usual tacky menu and claiming they serve "great food all day" no no no no no!!! If I am going out for dinner/lunch I always go to a real restaurant with a real chef and a interesting menu... simple

Harvester food is always bad. Its always full of people who think that they are classy cause they're dining out, but really they are just mr and mrs average who cant be bothered to cook. I walked into one once and left after thirty minutes, only had a drink. Anythign else on the menu was vile

I use to go to one near where i lived as a youngster, it was always good back then, delicious food, but obviously i didnt have to pay. But i always looked forward to it because they alway bought fresh hot bread through with nice butter and the ribs were delicious. mmmm i rememebr it was in a beautiful cosy building with a lot of character, not like the standard crappy ones these day which looks manufacturer and like they built it out of a box!
But i havent been recently, so it might have changed.

Brewer's Fayre chain are quite good.
I only ever went to a Harvester once and thought it was way over-priced.

Yes, you can go to the salad bar as many times as you like(try not to be seen after the 10th time) and you get free rolls but don't ask for butter because they don't like it. The kiddies meals are alright because they don't expext much and they can colour in the menu.

I went there 26th Jan for my sons birthday, his choice and it was awful, I could not eat it
It is not value for money even though it is cheap, Mc donalds is cheap and at least that is cooked and not mouldy
The Hungry Horse is the best cheap place to eat

No but I've been to a Brewers Fayre, and they are far too expensive, especially when it's a family party and you are in charge of paying for your own kids[all 4 of them].

Yeah - they used to be quite good, but these days they are shite. Everything (even the gravy) is delivered frozen then microwaved. Repulsive and not cheap either.
