I'm sorry but to the best of my knowlege you really do HAVE to show up at the WIC office, WITH the baby/children. There is no other way. They are usually really really helpful about scheduling though; if you explain, maybe you can get the last visit or first visit of the day, or a lunchtime appointment.

That's your only option is to call the WIC office and set up an appointment for a few weeks away. Put in a time off request slip for 3-4 hours off and get to it. In the long run it will be worth your time off... what with the pregnancy wic you get milk, cereal, cheese, peanut butter, beans. That equals about $30 a month right there. Once baby comes you'll get the formula which is $10-11 a can and you get 9 cans a month. That's nearly $100 a month there plus for the 6 months post-partum you still recieve your own WIC benefits plus once baby hits 3 mos you get your rice cereal, juice... and after baby is 12 months you recieve the same as the pregnancy wic for baby. It's worth a few hours pff BELIEVE ME!

You will Have to go up there.. but the thing is.. you have to make an appt and it could be months from now. I would make the appt and then they should send you some paperwork to have filled out by the doctor you are seeing and some questions you will need to answer as well. You will need proof of income and a utility bill or phone bill in your name with proof of your address.. you will most likely be at the appt most of the afternoon. So you'll need the day off. You will see a nutritionist and they will make an assessment of what you will need during the pregnancy.. if you are underweight some they will add certain foods and remove some if you are overweight.. like me! But call and make an appt soon.. I am due in April and I called in November and did not get an appt til late Jan.. so good luck.

Well you're just going to have to make time. You have to sit at the wic office for a while so you're going to have to be off for the entire day. The impossible is possible, you just have to make time and make it happen. If you can make it to work, you have to make appointments and handle business outside of work. Sorry, but hun there's no way around this. Good luck.

Advise... make your children's needs a priority! Tell your boss, honestly, I need to go to my WIC appointment, I need the cheese, milk, cereal, and peanut butter for my children! If you need to do it, you must... it only takes a few hours at the most for the first appointment...I honestly understand having to be a working mom, and struggles of taking care of small children, but when services such as WIC are available, and obviously needed, you must take the time to get them, it will only help you in the long run. GOOD LUCK!

unfortunately you do HAVE to go to the wic office. call them and set up an appointment...maybe for a day you have a dr's appt so you don't have to take off more time from work. they make it difficult to get these things. sorry :(

Unfortuanately there is not other way and once the baby is born they will want the baby to come with you or they will only give you on month at a time. If you take the baby then you can get three months at a time. This is great help as formula costs about 13.oo a can and my son was going thru one can about every 24 hours. It's expensive.

Well, you will have to take time off because they will not give you it without an appointment. My advice is to schedule an appointment on the same day as the next doctor appointment so that you don't take too much extra time off of work.

FYI, if you're pregnant or you have a new born, you really shouldn't be working all day every day, it's not healthy for you while you're pregnant (you need at least one day off a week) and it's definetely not healthy if you have a newborn, spending time with your baby needs to be a priority over work. Trust me I know, I switched jobs after I had my daughter so I only work 3 1/2 days now instead of 6 1/2. It's a little less money but it's better for both me and my daughter. Good luck.

There's no other way but to go to your WIC office and sign up. I signed up at my local health department and was able to pick up the same day.
