well... i just found out that the rainbow isn't just some arch, its circular so there is no ending to it, plus why would there be a pot at the end of a rainbow??? Rainbows symbolize that the whole world will not be flooded again, which has nothing to do with a pot of gold, i honestly dont know why ppl beleive that.... bye :o)

The Irish leprechaun's secret hiding place for his pot of gold is usually said to be at the end of the rainbow (which is impossible to reach).

Myth and Legend say that there is something along those lines there... the trouble is finding it. Go ahead, and try to find the literal end of a rainbow of any size... you start to lose sight of it as you draw closer to it (and you can't see it unless it is in front of you and your back is to the sun.) They are also elusive, sometimes disappearing quickly...
That's what gave rise to the notion that there is something worthwhile there, if only you can find it!
Irish Celtic tradition does hold that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, usually guarded by a Leprechaun. Some legends hold that if you could catch a Leprechaun (anywhere) and hang on to him, he has to give up his treasure to you (hence the Lucky Charms commercial where the kids keep trying to catch "Lucky" so he has to give them his treasure: Lucky Charms Cereal)

no, haven't you seen the commercial? the guy finds a pot with no gold at the end of the rainbow, and the leprechaun says he got sick of people stealing me gold, so now it's on his visa check card.

You cannot reach the end of a rainbow. Its end is always high in the sky from your point of view.
