Some of these answers are ridiculous. They watch too much TV. We say hello or wah gwan. Not anything difficult

Just say hello, hi, what's up.......
Jamaica is an English speaking country so it's OK to speak English, however there is a dialect called patois (patwah) that is spoken by the people, which is simply broken English. Now if you wanted to say hello in patois here are a few suggestions:
waah gwaan? ( what's going on?)
waa'm? (what happen?)
weh yah seh? (what are you saying?)
how tings? (how's things?)
every ting criss? (is everything ok?)
etc.
Here are a few responses to hello:
irie (i'm fine)
mi aarite (i'm alright)
yeah mon
nutten much (nothing much)
mi deh yah (i'm here)
etc.

Jamacians speak English but they also speak "patois". You will hear people shout out, "hey Mon, how's it goin'?" Not "man" it's "mon". You could shout back and say "everything be irie", if all is well.

you also can say "wah gwaan?" for "what's up?", also many jamaicans don't shake hands, but put fists together instead
