I have very little money and my main wealth are the friends I have. I was asked in a job interview one time the question " which would you rather have a thousand dollars or a thousand friends ? " I responded give me the thousand friends. I'll borrow one dollar from each friend and then I'll have both. Yes, I got the job.

you can have friends and not have money. and friends should not be based on how much money you have. i have quite a lot of money and all my friends are more or less broke.

Apparently you can. Catholic priests, nuns, etc. do not own anything, yet they seem to have friends.
