the government's official info for adopted adults wishing to find their parents:

here's a site that can help you contact the appropriate provincial agencies and help you in your search.

sadly, some 50+ women, mostly native heroin addicted prostitutes have gone missing in this part of the province over the course of the last twenty years.. you can see their names and pictures here:

Were you born in New Westminster or was your birth registered in New Westminster? That could happen if your mother lived in New Westminster but you were born in Vancouver General Hospital, Grace Hospital or St. Paul's Hospital.
If you were born in a New Westminster hospital, it may well have been the Royal Columbian or Mount St. Joseph. MSJ has just recently closed but it may be possible to trace their records.
Royal Columbian is still active and still growing. Does your birth mother's name not show on your birth certificate? If you were adopted, I believe that once you reach 18 you can request that your records be unsealed. But that would have to come from Victoria and be done through the adoption department.
Good luck in your search.

if you were born in New Westminster, then you were born at Royal Columbian Hospital. It's the only hosptial in New Westminster that delivered babies at the time.

You definately need to get your birth certificate. you can find out how to do that and a bunch of other information here: http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/

The next poster mentioned a hospital mt saint whatever. The hospital they are referring to was called St. Mary's, however babies were no longer being born at that hospital by then.

good luck

Since you are over 18, have you tried applying for a copy of your full birth certificate? Its not the little one we carry, its 8X10 and has the details of the hospital you were born in, the doctor who delivered you, and quite possibly your birth mothers name.
