Have you heard of any such reports? How does the abuse rate compare with the rate among straight foster parents / adoptive parents?

If the rate is comparatively low (as I believe it is), would this indicate that placement with gay parents is among the safest placement for needy children?

I imagine it has happened to some extent however the screening process for being an adoptive parent is so extensive I strongly doubt that if any such abuse cases have ever occured that extent of such a thing would be miniscule. I also suspect that far more abuse/neglect of children is at the hands of heterosexuals.

I have never heard of a single incident of Gay foster parents or adoptive parents abusing a child, mentally or physically.

Personally I think that any safe home with caring, loving people is safe placement for children. Whether the adults be straight, gay or single.

I have never heard of gay foster/parents ever having any type of report of abuse.

The reason probably is because we tend to be very loving accepting, and well adjusted people. We had to fight against all odds and opinions to get to where we are (and we arent that far yet....EQUAL RIGHTS) we understand people and their feelings and tend to be far more compassionate and unconditional then most heteros!
OH that should raise a bit of a ruckus don't ya think?

i will an orientation for foster care on the suited of the month, and contained in the literature they despatched me, there replaced into no factor out made up of drug sorting out. sounds like it will be a call for because drug dependancy is a reason to drag a baby out of a house. It would not make sense to position the newborn right into a house with yet another addict. i will ask about it at the same time as i bypass. I see how some might want to be hostile to it, yet once you've no longer something to cover, is there any damage? If something, it truly is a sturdy ingredient. so a lengthy way as adoptive mum and dad being examined, I truthfully do see the position it truly is a controversy with APs. the newborn is legally "yours". merely a similar (contained in the eyes of the regulation, besides) as a beginning figure and they don't get examined until eventually there's a reason to. Out of interest, once you do undertake, how lengthy are you monitored? (to make positive issues are as they should be contained in the homestead or to grant options with the transition) Or once you undertake is all considered over and finished?
