My skateboard didn't split or anything but the tail is all chipped off and some layers have broken off. Do I need a new skateboard?

As long as you wheel assemblies are securely attached- No. People with new boards do not have the "natural" wear marks of a seasoned veteran such as yours. To achieve the chipped off look takes a lot of time and experience, it is actually a mark of achievement, wear it proudly.
