Did you previously connect your ps3 with the av cables?

If you did, then the hdmi output is disabled right now.

Here's what you do,

Connect the ps3 to the tv with the hdmi cable

then, turn off the main power of the ps3 (switch in the back)

leave it off for 30 sec.

turn it on again

then hold your finger on the power button on the front of the ps3 until it beeps twice. This will reset the configurations you had on it earlier and you will be able to select the HDMI output as well as the resolution of your choice.

diverse issues you are able to attempt: all diverse do no longer could be executed so as make advantageous different video and audio are actually not coming off ps3. attempt previous video set as much as exchange settings to the hdmi twine and then attempt. its achievable your ps3 isnt changing the video settings, nevertheless it is going to be. Get a clean HDMI and attempt it. (only because of the fact the television see the twine does no longer advise that's defective, and you do no longer prefer a attractiveness type as somebody else stated, your eyes won't see a distinction) it incredibly is the glaring one, make advantageous the two sides of twine and plugged in, and which you quite have it on the main appropriate enter on television. additionally in case you have a laptop with HDMI or a dvd performed with HDMI attempt utilising them to connect with television to examine the twine. additionally you ought to objective diverse HDMI ports on television to make advantageous that one isn't defective, only random issues sorry.

haha, i had the same problem except i was connecting with HDMI/DVI....do you have to put it on a diffrent channel for the HDMI connection??? my tv is an older big screen, the HDMI/DVI is a diffrent channel (ie video 1,2,3) I had to put the tv on the regular channel where i could see the picture, change the setting to hdmi ON that channel then quickly change to the hdmi channel. For me i kept getting a blank screen, but when I did this it worked!!! The main screen is usually black or grey, when it's HD it should be greenish. I'm probably not making any sense am i??? well it worked for me...good luck i know it's frustrating, i spent 2 days trying to figure it out!!! i even called sony and they told me that my tv wasn't compatible!!! they don't know sh*t!!!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!! Thats what you get for buying a PS3 (George Forerman Grill) instead of an XBOX 360 or Wii.
Only 1 in 4 PS3's work properly anyway. Waaaaaay!!!!
Wallow in your mistakes.
