I went over to my mother's for dinner the other night and she had just finished reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Selznick. I am an avid reader myself and she told me she loved it so i sat down and read it today and thought it was incredible. Does anyone know of any other books that are similar to this one? Half pictures, half words, more than 30 or 40 pages? Any other books that i might like of a similar style i'd love to get my hands on, thanks!

I'm glad you asked this question, because it gave me a chance to learn about this book. I'm guessing the answer is "no." It seems this is a pretty unique book.

I've found a few reviews, but I thought it might help to have the blog comments that follow this one, and this link will give you an opportunity to ask your question further in a saturated circle. The link: http://fusenumber8.blogspot.com/2006/11/review-of-day-invention-of-hugo-cabret.html

Amazon.com always shows other books that might be of interest to people buying a particular book. They list these books:

Horns and Wrinkles by Joseph Helgerson
The Higher Power of Lucky by Susan Patron
Flotsam (Caldecott Medal Book) by David Wiesner
Rules (Newbery Honor Book) by Cynthia Lord
The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Vol. 1: The Pox Party by M.T. Anderson

Good luck. I've put in my order for The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Thank you for asking the question.
