Age doesn't have anything to do with it...it's when YOU feel mature enough, to make it on your own. You might feel grown up around 18 or 19, but some of those people are not yet grown up.
I really felt grown up when I was 19, because I was out on my own, after completing a year of college. I found a job on my own, and found a beautiful girlfriend when I was 19.....hmmmm, wish I could go back to 19 and live that year over again.... I would have married her.

Ditto at 41. I sometimes feel old, but I never feel grown up.
Whoops. I take that back. I felt grown up from the age of 3 until about 28 or 29. Then I descended into immaturity from which I have not surfaced.

There isn't one particular age. It's when your out on your own and the all the bills are your responsibility.

When both your parents die.
Up until then you're a child in their eyes, regardless of your age, because you can call and seek their advice.
After they die, you're truly on your own.
