You can use Opcon or Aphcon (sp) A by Baush & Lomb also, put a tea bag in hot water and then squeeze out som of the water but only so it doesn't drip and put that on your eye. I will help to draw some of the mucus out. You should still see a doctor because you can spread it to your other eye, but it will help get rid of some of the irritation & discomfort.

No No NO, do NOT buy visine and put it in your eyes. Pink eye is a bacterial infection, and the ONLY way that it's going to get cured, is to go to a doctor......sorry. He's gonna have to either give you a prescription or give you a special ointment especially for the eyes, and you'll need to treat the unaffected eye as well, because you can infect it really quickly. Also, make sure you wash your hands.....especially after doing anything to your eyes....this is highly contagious. Don't let it go too long without going to the doctor.....it can get a lot worse. Best of luck to you.

Don't use visine!!
I got pink eye this summer, and didn't even know what I had. I kept on using visine and I eventually couldn't see.
The best thing is saline eye wash to keep it clear of junk and go the the pharmacy, there is a small bottle in the eye section that is for Pink Eye. It will help. Be patient and stay away from everyone. Wash your hands a LOT and expecially stay away from kids.
Just stay home, because it's very contagious and can be very dangerous if small children or th elderly get it.
Also, use warm wet cloths to help remove the dry gunkie stuff.
Good luck!!

i dont recommend mixing some stuff at home and dropping it into your eye if that is what you mean by 'home remedy' it might make it worse than it already is. if you use visine or other non prescription eye meds it will take longer for the infection to heal. but if you get a prescription antibiotic it will eliminate bacteria much faster although it will be more expensive. i had an eye infection few months ago.

I am sorry I don't have any home remedies but I wanted to say that pink eye is extremely contagious so you need to be careful if you are not on antibiotics....don't touch your eye and make sure you and others wash your hands a lot...plus you probably won't be able to go back to school or work until you have been on antibiotics for 24 hours...good luck....

NO! Go to the doctor..hot compresses can help alleviate the pain and swelling temporarily, but antibiotics will be the only remedy. I've been through pink eye (conjuctivitis) with both of my daughters and sometimes even the antibiotics don't fully work. But, it will be much better than doing nothing. Good luck!

There is no home remedy for pink eye and it is very, very contagious. Do not transfer it to the other eye by touching, Wash hands after touching the eye and try not to touch even tho I know it itches. You must see the Dr. and get an antibx.

Pinkeye is a bacterial infection that spreads like crazy. So if you have contact with any other people or animals, ever, you should get it treated because it is incredibly easy to transmit. You'll just need an ointment, and it will prevent your family, friends, or pets from suffering too.

UMM well you can buy simple eye drops (without going to the doctor) and just put a couple drops in each eye 2x a day (or more if you really think you need it) and make sure to wash your hand frequently and DON'T RUB YOUR EYES!!!!!!
