a simultaneous submission?
Like... if the articles are on the same topic, basically using a lot of the same arguments, but written for totally different audiences?

Technically, it is not. However, when you sell an article to a publication, they have what's called "first rights," designating them as having the first right to publication.

Depending on how similar the two articles are, one of your clients (especially the first one you contacted) may have a problem with you selling a similar article to another publication. However, after your first client has published the article, you would be free to sell the same article to another publication.

Basically it comes down to how similar/different the article is, how different/similar the audience is and how much you care about maintaining a good relationship with your respective clients.

Yes. And, because it is written to apeal to diferent audiences, any
arguments within the article are null and void, to say nothing
of not being honest.
