Why not? It's not as though it's worth waiting for St Georges Day.
I am English with an Irish heritage - celebrating St Patricks day has recently become very commercial but it's always been a good way of bonding (with friends family and strangers) and feeling proud of where you come from and the shared traditons you have - whether they include singing, dancing, eating or drinking . It's a real shame that there isn't a stronger desire for St Georges Day to be celebrated in the same way, for old traditions and customs to be resurrected and for people to be able to smile at one another in the street as they recognise common bonds. Not sure where you would start but that could be part of the fun - Go on organise a St Georges Day Party this year! Pie and Mash and warm beer all round - finish off with a verse of Knees up Mother Brown and you'll be wondering why you haven't been doing this for years....

Yes, it is a fantastic day: My husband is Irish - so we celebrate with lots of Irish/anglo Irish people. We have colcannon, sausages, soda bread - some guinness - watch the Irish dancing and have a fantastic time. The Irish don't mind others joining in from what I can see - St Patricks is a celebratory day and one that is about the family.

Yes, even though you might not be Irish, it is fun to celebrate.
In St Patricks day people wear lot of green colored ones.

Definately not Irish... but that doesn't stop us from celebrating. Our favorite thing to do is make Corned Beef and Cabbage for dinner and yes, gotta have the green beer.

Many years ago I quit drinking. Every year it became harder to get into the Spirit of St. Patrick's Day, then my Leprechaun died and there was just no further point to it.

I used to wear green on St. Patrick's Day but I don't anymore because it's wrong for someone to pinch you just because you're not wearing a certain color. I don't want to wear green out of self-defense.

Well of course I do - my father would never forgive me if I didn't have a few Guinness's on St Patrick's Day

Yes because my best friends are Irish, one lives here and one in Dublin so we do alternate years of staying here or going there, this year its Dublin again and that is one party worth going to.
