Campbells Russian Dwarves can live in colonies as long as everybody is getting along. You may hear a few "spats" but as long as no blood is drawn, this is normal. Brothers are the best choice. Males tend to be more laid back and less territorial than females.

If fighting does start, watch to see who the aggressor is and remove just that one into a new cage and hopefully the other two brothers can co-habitat happily. Many sources say that dwarves can live together, but it really depends on the personalities of the hamsters. Some are happier living alone. (Note: Syrian hamsters ARE solitary but you don't have Syrians so disregard any answers pertaining to the Syrians).

You may observe that they will live together this way fine for almost their entire lives and then as they turn into seniors, fighting begins. This is due to the "dominant" male losing his dominant position. He has aged and one or both of his brothers will seize the oppurtunity to be the "leader" (even though they've aged as well). This doesn't happen that often but is not that uncommon.

Leave them as they are and just watch for fighting and/or injuries.

No they can't. Even if they were the same species they couldn't live together. The two dwarfs you have at the moment would attack any hamster that came into their territory. If you get another hamster, it must have its own cage.

If the hamsters have grown up together then yes, but only if they get along. Try puting them in a cage for an hour or so and keep an eye on them. If anything weird starts happening then sepperate them. Also in a few days you see a scratch or bite mark that can not be explained then I also suggest sepperation.I hope this helps!

How old are the hamsters? When they are babies is the only time you can have them together. What I mean is if you already had 1 and then tried to put 2 more in the cage that wouldn't work. If you got all 3 at the same time and they are babies then they can be in the same cage and will not kill each other.
btw, don't put them in direct son, I made that mistake when cleaning their cage. 45 minutes later they were on their backs dead. I told my daughter the neighbors stole them when they were outside.

Yeah, but they WILL climb on top of each other to escape, so make sure it has a really tight lid!

They like having friends! They are very fun to watch socialize and play. Oh, and if you don't feed them enough they have a tendency to eat the food out of their cage mates cheeks. Its gross...

Syrian Hamsters are solitary - Dwarves aren't!! They can live together but if they start fighting really bad separate them.

No. Hamsters are solitary animals and like to live by themselves. Often they are fine, but sometmes they will kill each other.
