First, don't categorize all students, not all struggle. This is just my opinion, I believe it is caused by a breakdown in the family structure and values. When I grew up, many moms worked, but most were house wives. Growing up was accepted as a "molding" time to become responsible adults. As time changed, more and more mothers went to work, and there was a breakdown in the family structure, example, divorce, remarrage, ect. Too many kids now are left on their own at too young of an age. Many parents don't know where their kids are or what they are doing. I personally also believe it is a breakdown in the religous part of the family. Family values have declined. We are in a spiral where with each generation it gets a little worse. Kids don't know the tight family bond and love that kids once knew, therefor they are struggling. They are looking for answers in school and in life that they should have been taught as little children.

its all a part of life. nothing is easy all of the time. and since school is the main part of most young adults lives, its the one thing they have to struggle in. you just have to learn how to deal with your problems and make the right choices. Everything always seems harder when you do something stupid because you know you could have done it differently.

if life never handed us a challenge we would never grow. struggles are challenges and some can't over come or think they can't but we all can it's life!
with out hardships and failure and struggles we wouldn't acheive much!
look at the kit with a key! do you think he planned that?

Lack of motivation, if teachers don't care, and arent' motivated, and there for the check then students will be the same way, just without a check.

because a lot of people have realized that they just don't care about what they're learning in school, or they're tired of getting screwed over by assignments and teachers, so they stop caring. then they just get lazy in life.
