thats because xp has a known issue with sound drivers. the manufacturer should have a patch fix on the website or try www.driverguide.com.

Hi there.

You can try these options.

1) Check if u muted your sound by accident
2) Check if your drivers are working (control panel, sounds and audio devices, hardware tab) do you see greyed out options? If so you need to install or reinstall them off your sound card's CD/website
3) Check if your speaker cable/plugs are plugged into your sound card all the way in if you have external speakers
5) Is your volume at the correct level?

I hope one of these would make your sound come back

Try driverguide.com and look for the drivers for your sound card.... Also have a look in control panel/device manager and look at the audio devices to see iif winows recognises the problem.. if there is ay problems with your audio devies they will have either little yellow exclamation mark or even a red cirlcle if they are disbaled.. if u double clickon them it will tell you their status.
