On their podcast the authors joked they would simply call the show "Anatomy"
On the rumor mill at the beginning of the season they said a Grey would die.
Recently the spoilers have confirmed it won't be Meredith.
After walks on Water the authors revealed that the little girl is a metaphor for Meredith. In Drowns on Dry Land, the little girl was found by her mother in the hospital.
Also in Drowns on Dry Land. Meredith saw people fading away, image of her mother as she her self is disappearing, little girl standing on dock. Meredith say, but I have more to say.
Simply stated, Merdith is dead so that she can talk to her dying mother.
When last characterized Ellis was sedate. Alzheimer's patients are seldom sedate, at least not Ellis. She is dying of heart problems.
Meredith is talking to dead people, Dylan and Denny, Ellis is soon to come. This will allow Meredith to apologize for saying Ellis has been holding her back. This will allow Ellis to say she loves her and is proud of Meredith.
They will be able to revive Meredith and she will probably think it is all a dream, but the news will come in that Ellis has passed away.
The thought here is that this forces Meredith to reevaluate everything in her life including Derek who has problems of his own knowing that he could not save Meredith on his own. His life is centered around Meredith.
And if anything they would call it Yang's Yings, just to be consistent.

I hope not, I love her! Ya, Yang's Anatomy doesn't sound good only because we are so used to Grey's Anatomy! Also, I was reading through the portion of abc.com about the show and instead of saying "the devastating conclusion" like they did after the end of last Thursday's episode, it says "the dramatic conclusion." Soo, there might be hope that she could come back because that definetly would be dramatic!!
I won't be here to watch the show so you should post something about the show if she dies!!!

There are so many directions this show could go to. Dont forget ther is another grey in show thats alive. What if merdith died and went into the whole voice over thing ,flashbacks, moere scenes with Denny and The Cop in the afterlife. I could think of a dozen different ideas about this subject. What if the new medical program meridths mom is in works. Anyway whatever they plan its got me on the edge of my seat. this show is the bannanas

They actually could 'kill Meredith Grey' off and continue the show by showing how her 'organs' and things 'lived on in others' ... but I doubt that they will kill her off ... however I won't 'feel good about it' until she's 'up and about' and busy being herself again ... which may not be for a LONG TIME since she is 'so near death' now! Her 'recovery' will be a 'good part' of the story for awhile ...

I hope she doesn't die! Surely she won't because of the whole GREY'S Anatomy thing. And if you watch the "next week on grey's anatomy" part, it shows her coughing and well,....that's good.

I think she will, rumour has it there will be a spin-off starring Taye Diggs and what her face, the neonatal surgeon. What if Grey's anatomy is over!

no. she cant die bcuz she is lots of people's favorite character and the viewers would be just too sad. i mean, this really long week of suspense and sadness over derek sitting in the hallway and meredith's white fact...its already too much sadness.
plus, why would ellen pompeo wanna leave the show?

I hope not. The character (the actor, rather) that should leave Grey's is Isaiah Washington.
