I had a little troll and her Sybil personalities harass me a little because I answered her question wrong. I would say people get offended by a new view point and want yes men, I want to hear what you really think when I ask a question, even the rude answers are entertaining.

The answers to the yes monkey questions never seem to benefit the asker. The answers are much more interesting to the other answerer's. That's why I don't ask many questions.

I kinda agree with you on this. If I was to use percentages, I would say that 80% only want to hear or see someone agree with them and the remaining 20% have legitimate questions

Maybe. I ask questions to get a whole range of viewpoints. Being open-minded to other people is a good thing.

Nah I don't agree its nice to hear a different point of view
Someone answered completely different to my question the other day, and on one hand I wanted to give them best answer but I didn't because, although it was criticising me the answer, I wanted to tell the person the answer to there questions but knew I couldnt.......so didnt, give them the best answer because it would of been like I agreed with them

It's true that there are a lot of 'messers' on line.
But it depends which section you look in.
The more specialised areas, cookery, painting, photography, drawing, computers, diy......are actually looking for help, and need an answer to a specific query.

Lol, really though, I agree. Many people on here are just looking for that little "nudge" in the direction they already want to go. Others are actually looking for the opposite, for someone to tell them not to do something or what not to do, because that's what they need to hear.

Not me! I also give advice that is contrary to what has been asked. Sometimes I even get a BEST ANSWER when I do (especially when I give advice about computers since I have twenty-six years of data processing experience).
