two possible choices (based on what some of my classmates said)
1) When miguel brings esperanza's abuelita to california.
2) When her mother gets sick

Not sure, but i think the climax starts when they arrive in California, and are forced to live in seperate camps, having to come to terms with the fact that they are not rich anymore. The peak of the climax i think, is when the dust storm comes and Esperanza's mother catches a lung disease (possibly pneumonia) and Esperanza has to take care of her mother as well as two babies.Until her mother is admitted to a hospital and worsens.

The climax is usually the point of the story where it is most suspenseful, and you get to the main problem. What are your two choices? Maybe we can help narrow it down. Good luck!
