What is the most dense matter on earth? I am talking about something that I could hold in my hand, not something created in a particle accelerator that disappears after .0000000000001 seconds.

Osmium is the densest naturally occuring element.

But if you are holding platimum you are really close and not at risk to toxic oxides!

Anything on the upper end of the periodic table of elements that is a solid.

Uranium does well, but I would not advise you to hold it in your hand as it is radioactive, ergo poisonous.
