Definately don't do it. My friends and I did it, and we tried to do the whole safe route like making sure everything was clean and all that. It pierced and I had a belly button ring for a little while but it soon got infected and then after I took it out there was this lump of scar tissue right above my belly button. I mean, I cleaned it and everything, but my body seriously completely rejected it.

Dont do it!! The belly button is a difficult piercing to do in the first place and is very prone to infection. Make sure a professional does it. I had mine done by a friend and it was too shallow, got very infected, and was painful for months. My body eventually rejected it, and now I have a big scar. It is just not worth it.

no it's not it is unsanitary not safe and stupid. I assume you are asking this because you are too young to get it done and your parents said no. Please get over it. Your parents will eventually say yes or you can get it done when you are of age. I know it seems like the most important thing in the world right now but you will get over it. If thats not why you wan to know then I'm sorry for being rude.

No, not only are you risking it getting infected-even with the cleanest of techniques, you risk scarring badly or not putting it in
straight-that wouldn't be good. Leave the piercing to the professionals!!

It is not safe, because, the skin to get the piercing is much to deep to do yourself!

no my friend did it and it got really infected and she had to take it out and go to the doctor if your almost 16 you can go to a place like a tattoo place to get it pierced like i did but your parents have to take you and sign some papers and you have to clean it twice a day for three months and it dose hurt but not alot and its the clamps they use to hold it in place that hurt but its so cool

It's probably not wise to do it yourself. You could hit an artery or major vein or something...is risking your life or getting an infection that important to you?

Not really. Kind of gross and painful too. My friends did this themselves. One of them got infected and she had to have surgery so dont do it!
