I work at an Information booth in the building where the Academy awards are being held, and we keep getting questions from people who want to know how to BUY tickets to the ceremony, or how to BUY tickets for the bleachers. I am just amazed by how many people are willing to PAY just to see celebrities. And then there are people who are arguing with me about whether or not they can come stand on the street and watch. I tell them the streets will be blocked off, they argue with me!! They're desperate to see celebs. I just don't get why people care that much.

Not me.. I dont think they are ALL THAT. To me they are just like any other person. I respect those celebs that do something useful with their fame and power. ie.. like Angelina Jolie. I have little respect for them otherwise. Cheers!

That's just who we are as a society. People are attracted to the glamour and glitz Hollywood seems to radiate. Everyone wants a part of the '"fabulous life" that celebrities live (that is blown way out of proportion by the media) and if they can't do that for themselves, my guess is that it's best to live vicariously through the celebs that can.
I will admit that i've fallen victim to starry eyes too. I want to pursue acting after high school and there is no amount I wouldn't pay to have a few seconds with my favorite celebs to get some tips\pointers.

They are soo curious! But also it's when ppl really admire particular celebrities. like myself, i would love to see certain ppl. Be near them. And i wish i could just say somehting to them and congratulate on this and that achievement.
