I have to laugh at all these answers that say that Pujols is better than A-Rod, and is more clutch. What did Pujols do in the World Series last year? He was 3-for-15. He didn't contribute much in the series, it was the Cardinals pitching. Also, A-Rod was a GREAT shortstop, a much more important and difficult position than first base. Yeah, Pujols can mash. But he can't steal bases like A-Rod, and isn't the all-around player A-Rod is. BTW, there were steroid rumblings around Pujols last season. I didn't hear any concerning A-Rod.

It looks like you want everyone to answer "Pujols" as you are giving them thumbs up for Pujols and thumbs down for A-Rod. Pujols didn't tear it up in the series, has never gone 40/40 like A-Rod, and didn't play SHORTSTOP like A-Rod did. Make fun of A-Rod's errors all you like, he's not a third baseman and he's wasting away at third. I will take A-Rod every day of the week.

A-Rod has the potential to put up better numbers at times. Just not every game, he usually goes in streaks so at the end of the year the numbers are similar. But Pujols is the kind of player that does it everyday. Personally I would rather face the day knowing that I have a player that WILL produce X rather than having a player who may be great or may suck today.
I like them both but from a baseball perspective Pujols is an automatic play no matter what and I sometimes wonder if I should have rested A-Rod against this pitcher or that one...

Pujols. Hes only been in the league for a few years now and already is on pace for 600+ HR's. A-Rod is too inconsistent especially in the playoffs. Although A-Rod is better defensively, he also dosent have the leadership that Pujols does. Pujols basically led the Cardinals to the World Series with small help from others. Pujols, hands down.

I would say Pujols, Pujols has had better stats if you compare Arods when he was young with Pujols and Pujols is a leader. Arod can be kind of selfish sometimes and he dont handle the press very well, now i know being good with the press has nothing to do with baseball but Arod brings a negative vibe to the ballpark sometimes and Pujols is always possitive

I would ask if you meant a better person or a better baseball player, but I would answer Albert Pujols anyway. A-Rod let money and the yankee name get to his head. Pujols led his team to a championship, and makes everyone a better player, while A-Rod just takes away their money.

Pujols, no doubt. A-Rod is still a top tier player but his performance in clutch moments puts him behind Pujols.
