im doing my A+ certification in IT,and i need an old hard drive to practice dissasembling and fixing and so on.can i pick one up in a computer store or online??not sure

I have about 20...or so! The problem would be getting them to you!! I think your best bet would be to approach a computer repair business near to you... They will probably give you some free of charge,as they usually dump them anyway...

look for a computer 'recycling' store or find a 'hamvention' (amateur radio operator swapmeet). You can sometimes find drives for a little bit of nothing ...
or dumpster dive. around here, folks will set a pc out for the garbage truck and some of the discards have drives in them.

disassembling is not part of computer repair .. once u do that they are toast .. but a cheap one new would be fine ...
