every year there are over 16,000 murders right here at home. You don't he them talking about ways to save lives here. I do feel for our solders and it is sad that in 4 years we have lost over 3000, but in that same time over 60,000 were kill one our streets here at home, and none of the canidates talk about fixing that.

They don't talk about the domestic problems because they're much harder to solve than Iraq. There are too many murders because of our drug policy, our trade policies (which lead to unemployment) and all sorts of other things that are politically "too hot" to touch.

For one thing murder, unless done on federal property like a post office, federal building or national park is handled by state governments. The feds can mandate until they are blue in the face but without funding the states can do little. One thing that helps keep crime of all sorts down is increase in police (gotta pay for them) and more jobs for people to do. Most murders are committed by people who have no job. It is tragic that we have murders here at home and it is true not enough is being done about it. Write your legislators, state and federal and let them know how you feel. If you have a suggestion someone hasn't already thought of you could have the bill named after you.

Maybe because statistically speaking, you are in more danger of dying from gunshot in Washington DC than in Iraq. They are so accustomed to the Numbers here that they don't care any longer.
I think the reason is pure politics. Iraq gets attention and sympathy from the mindless who are only interested in soundbites, not real issues.
