A friend told her three-year-old daughter to pickup her toys, her daughter refused to and proceeded to do what she wanted. She then told her her she would get a spanking if she didn't pick them up. Her daughter said,"If you do I'll call the M.P.s!" (They lived on a military base.)

It blows my mind that a child of three has the ability to process this information, let alone threaten a parent.

I got reported to CPS by my kid when he was eleven. The social worker quickly learned that there was no abuse, but it is stressful to go through one of those investigations. Kids are learning to manipulate earlier and earlier.

A friend told her 12 year old child "No" that he couldn't go to a movie. He said if he couldn't go he would call and report her for hitting him. She has never been reported to social services, has no record, doesn't believe in spanking. Out of fear of getting locked-up and having a record, she let him go!

I used to tell my mom I was going to ring Childline when she told me off for something, I wasn't serious because I knew I couldn't do without her, my mom was well aware of this as well so it never worked! Kids need to realise how serious an allegation of abuse is and not just use it as a way to get what they want.
