We bought HD LCD TV with a dvr in it. We connected using an HDMI cable but the DVR will not work. Help?

We are Dish Satellite users.

Can the TV actually record from the HDMI input? Very doubtful.
The whole idea of HDMI is not only better quality but also copy protection.

The DVR will definitely work if you use the internal TV Tuner; however, check the user manual if it works from HDMI or component (it may work with composite).

Even if it works with HDMI (doubtfu;), your satellite box may not allow recording all channels (copy protection, especially for premium and PPV channels).

Did u look thourgh all the settings on the sateilite box?
